Nothing too entertaining or insightful to post today I'm afraid, but I'm not gonna let that stop me from actually posting ;)
So the question of the day: what the heck is in this picture??? Several of these creatures turned up in the woodsy area by my new building and no one seems to know their purpose, so I thought I would turn to my trusty blogience to see if any of y'all know (or how creative you can be in your guesses)... I call them UFO's, others refer to them as weather balloons, and yet still others try to insist they are lights, although I have walked these woods MANY times in the dark now that it gets dark at noon), and I have yet to see any light beaming from the orb...

So, it's difficult to see in this picture, but I have a guess. I'm thinking that it emits a noise that is at a frequency that is not audible by humans. Bears can hear it, don't like the noise, and therefore stay away. Am I right? You have to find out and let us know!!!
Is that a net underneath the unidentifiable object!??!

Ahaha - thanks for the laugh Jenn!!! :) The thought of bears wandering around on campus but being suddenly driven away, paws on ears, running for the mountains...well that's just damn funny. Thanks!
Rosie it's not a net, it's a fence - a "Rent-a-fence" to be exact...
And the verdict is in. Dang Clint at work was right - they are lights. Not nearly as interesting as a UFO or a bear-fender-offer, but it turns out they are quite helpful. Super bright mo-fo's. I'll get a pic and post it for some resolution for you all ;)
